Entertainment Design’s 2005 product awards honour the d&b audiotechnik D12 amplifier.
For over nine years leading US industry magazine Entertainment Design has invited a distinguished panel of judges, including sound designers and acousticians, to select its Sound Products of the Year. Among the winners for 2005, the assembled experts highlighted the d&b audiotechnik D12 amplifier; an award that confirms the company’s enduring reputation as a complete systems manufacturer.
After the rigorous selection process the winning candidates were honoured at the EDDY Awards ceremony in New York in June.
The 3 RU two channel D12 amplifier incorporates Digital Signal Processors to provide loudspeaker specific set ups and comprehensive protection functions for all d&b loudspeakers. The D12 has both digital and analog signal inputs, controls and status indicators, remote network interfaces and a sine wave and pink noise signal generator. Each channel has a user-definable 4-band parametric equalizer, and a signal delay capability of up to 340 msecs that can be applied independently. The D12 also includes d&b SenseDrive for accurate control of the driver membranes in d&b subwoofers, resulting in an extremely precise low frequency performance.
