The Vi7P and Vi10P point source loudspeakers look set to extend the international success of the d&b V-Series with a 2016 Best Loudspeaker award, courtesy of InAVate magazine and Integrated Systems Europe (ISE). After months of public voting the winners were announced on the opening night of the ISE exhibition in Amsterdam, February 9th. This was InAVate’s tenth annual round up of the year’s leading names in AV and a significant endorsement of the specialist skills, expertise and technical development in the industry today.
The V-Series point sources provide a cutting edge answer to an age old demand: a high performance compact single box solution for an extensive range of permanently installed applications including: theatres, concert halls, live clubs and houses of worship. Both Vi7P and Vi10P utilize an innovative dual chamber mid range horn to provide an MF sensitivity that is nothing short of exceptional. It’s this remarkable MF performance, particularly in the vocal range that set these loudspeakers apart. Inspired by the impressive horizontal dispersion characteristics of d&b line arrays the dipolar driver arrangement of these 3-way passive point sources results in unprecedented directivity control performance and reliability.
On accepting the award Sabina Berloffa, Director of Marketing and Product Management at d&b commented, “Receiving this award, after an exciting first day at ISE, is a further indication that d&b is delivering real value to the installation market. These loudspeakers set an unprecedented standard in point source performance, but they also offer all the advantages of the d&b system approach: reliable, predictable sound, network system integration, and ease of use. A great solution provides more than sonic excellence; it must be able to meet real world challenges and everyday demands. The voters’ response to these dynamic new point sources proves they’re successfully fulfilling those needs.”
