Prolight + Sound 2018 was a great success for d&b with the official launch of the GSL System from the SL-Series, a new loudspeaker system sitting right at the top of the d&b product portfolio.
The new GSL System created quite a buzz throughout the show. Exceptional audio performance combines with maximum efficiency into a package elegantly aligned with the system design, deployment and control capabilities of the tried and tested d&b Workflow. The GSL System is a complete solution created specifically for the largest sound reinforcement applications in significantly sized arenas, stadiums and festivals, to accurately deliver any performance style or musical genre.
d&b also took the opportunity to announce a series of landmark integrations between Soundscape’s central DS100 Signal Engine and digital mixing consoles from leading manufacturers DiGiCo , Avid and Lawo. The integrations were announced at a live mixing session showing the console workflows & mixing live multitrack recordings.
The d&b stand
It wasn’t just the two new d&b releases in the spotlight at Prolight + Sound though, guests could find the full d&b product range in the Sound + Audio Hall on the d&b stand, including all loudspeaker series E, T, J, Y and V-Series, as well as xS, xA and xC-Series. It was the perfect opportunity for attendees to have their questions answered by d&b co-workers, learn more about the products, and experience the d&b innovations in action.
Prolight + Sound and the official release of the GSL System from the SL-Series, was the next step in the d&b evolution of loudspeakers, and continues the new era of sound experience.
The d&b demos
Prolight + Sound attendees had multiple opportunities to experience the d&b Soundscape, with two different Soundscape Sessions; The Soundscape Mixing Session and The d&b Soundscape Sessions. The daily d&b Soundscape Mixing Sessions with Serge Gräfe, Kraftwerk FoH, were a big success, and guests were keen to learn more about the process of developing a creative concept for a mix using d&b Soundscape.
