At Prolight + Sound 2019, d&b will be joined by some very special guests who will talk about their experience of working with the d&b Soundscape. At 14:30 each day, in a session entitled My Soundscape, one of three special guests will take questions, and play sound cue samples in an hour long discussion.
On Tuesday, renowned theatre designer Sebastian Frost will talk about his experience while working on Sting’s musical The Last Ship; Wednesday sees Grammy award winning artist and engineer Imogen Heap talk about using Soundscape aboard her Mycelia European tour; on Thursday, Serge Gräfe, sound engineer and designer, will offer a unique insight into creating multi -dimensional soundscapes with German electro pioneers Kraftwerk on their 3D world tour.
In the other daily sessions entitled Art and Engineering with the d&b Soundscape, visitors can hear artists, sound designers and FoH mixers discuss their working experience with the d&b Soundscape. The sessions will include multitrack mixes from shows using Soundscape, insights into how the technology is working day to day, plus hints at what to expect next. Sessions in English will begin at 11:00 each day with two 16:00 sessions Tuesday and Thursday. Head to the daily 12:30 slots to listen in German.
The d&b Soundscape demo room will also demonstrate a full range of integration possibilities for sound consoles, DAW plug ins and tracking systems. Attendees at the demo room will also have the opportunity to do their own mix on a Soundscape system utilizing a fully integrated LAWO sound console.
d&b will introduce new integration partners BlackTrax and zactrack in conjunction with this full schedule of events. Working in collaboration with media equipment supplier, Amptown System Company (ASC), the d&b team has developed a SoftwareBridge for the BlackTrax real time motion tracking system. There’ll also be news on the working integration with lighting technology specialists zactrack, and their automated Follow-System of the same name.
With these stories and newly integrated tools the d&b Soundscape continues to expand with real world practicalities and simplicity in mind. Representing the crossover between art and science, this is a toolkit to stay firmly in the hands of users, however intricate their creative vision gets.
