Among the palm trees and sunny California skies at the 2018 NAMM show, the d&b audiotechnik team could be found amidst a crowded exhibition stand and demo room, buzzing about the upcoming release of the d&b Soundscape.
This year’s theme for the show, ‘’Believe in Music’, made NAMM the perfect place to preview the d&b Soundscape and DS100 signal engine - two innovations from d&b that allow for a completely new auditory experience by putting creativity at the centre of the sound production process, and bridging the gap between the physics of loudspeaker system design and absolute creative potential.
Each day of the show d&b ran multiple demo sessions, fully exploring the concepts of sources and spaces in loudspeaker system design with the d&b Soundscape and the DS100 signal engine. These demonstrations were the first opportunities on the US west coast to experience the upcoming d&b releases first-hand.
David Claringbold, d&b CMO, relayed, “The time of year and location make NAMM very valuable to us. The d&b Soundscape is something we have looked forward to customers experiencing here for some time now. The important word here is customer. We are moving ever closer to a world where our audience is at the center of our sound experience thinking – not at the end. NAMM is the perfect setting to share the d&b Soundscape and that new way of thinking.”
There were several additional d&b products on display throughout the NAMM show from the comprehensive Y-Series created for small to midsized applications to the d&b V7P point source loudspeaker and the 21S installation subwoofers. Visitors also had the chance to see how the d&b Workflow improves efficiency from the start of a project right through to the final result.
d&b are looking forward to setting off on the next trip, when the team will be heading to Amsterdam in February to officially release the d&b Soundscape at ISE 2018.
