About EN 54-16

The EN 54-16 certification describes the required testing and performance criteria for Voice Alarm Control and Indication Equipment (VACIE) used in alarm systems installed in buildings. d&b’s D80 amplifier, 30D amplifier, 10D amplifier and DS10 Audio network bridge are certified as components within the scope of the initiative established by PAVA Facilities as part of a fire alarm system. This solution concept meets the requirements of a voice alarm system containing the components of participating manufacturers in accordance with the EN54-16 standard and is therefore approved for use in suitable solutions for building life safety and voice evacuation systems. This enables them to be used in an even wider variety of installations.

About EN 54-24

EN 54-24 specifies requirements, testing methods and performance criteria for loudspeakers used in fire detection and alarm systems that broadcast a warning of a fire to the occupants of a building. EN 54-24 compliant loudspeakers, which now include d&b’s A-Series, Y-Series, xS-Series of loudspeakers, must comply with certain acoustic requirements such as sound pressure levels and speech intelligibility as well as ruggedness standards and protection ratings for environmental conditions.
